Review: Some Kind of Happiness

Some Kind of Happiness
Some Kind of Happiness by Claire Legrand

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A beautiful yet tragic tale about how it is okay to be sad, it’s okay to feel broken, it’s alright that you’re not perfect. Really good on mental illness representation. I’m hoping it can help children get rid of the fear and stigma surrounding feelings and actually talk to someone they trust instead of bottling things up after getting a hold of this book. To anyone that loves books, writing and/or The Bridge To Terabithia, consider picking this up please. It could get a bit repetitive maybe, but i found it age and story appropriate. Didn’t give it the full 5 stars though because for me, it felt like the ending was a little too whimsical and that left it with much more to be desired for the fact that this is a stand-alone; but that’s just me. – Nash
